Living Value Class

Living Value Class

Since the beginning of the 2019/2020 Academic Year, Elyon Christian School has included Living Values class to the Preschool to High School curriculum. We designed the living value class to nurture social awareness and emotional maturity based on God’s truth. The themes of living value class revolves around our school values: Love – Endurance – Advanced – Decency. Our purpose is to encourage students to accept and appreciate themselves as God’s precious creation. We hope that they can grow to be individuals who are ready to dedicate their talents to show God’s love for the society based on their unique calling. Through this class, we motivate students to learn about their personality, global perspectives, as well as a current social problem. We believe that giving students a specific time to explore values of life and flourish their competencies based on those values is very crucial for their development.

There will be 20 values in total discussed in the living value class and will be implemented gradually until the 2021/2022 academic year. Students will be given actual cases and problems to solve and decide the best solution. We encourage students to express their opinion through the work of arts, peer discussions, role plays, quizzes, and self-reflection. We hope through the lessons our students can help each other and learn from their classmates as well. Therefore, we guide them to reflect, imagine, discuss, communicate, create, write about, and implement those values by answering these questions:

  1. HOW DO I ACCEPT AND APPRECIATE MY LIFE AND OTHERS AS A PRECIOUS AND NOBLE CREATION OF GOD?
  2. HOW DO I NAVIGATE MYSELF TO CONFORM TO THE IMAGE OF GOD?
  3. HOW DO I DEDICATE MYSELF TO THE NEEDS OF OTHERS AND SOCIETY IN ORDER TO MANIFEST GOD’S GRACE?
