Secondary
Secondary education at Elyon serves students at the age of 11-14 years old and ends with students taking the internationally recognized Cambridge IGCSE exams. We believe that these years hold an important role in students’ character development as they experience new things and changes. It is been our joy and passion to provide guidance for them as well as designing the best learning experience for students at transitions.

Curriculum Overview
Elyon Christian Secondary School uses the Cambridge International Lower Secondary and IGCSE program as the main curriculum. Our program prepares students from grades 7 to 9 with both international and national curriculum. Grade 9 students will choose one out of 5 STREAMS offered as part of university preparation pathway. Students will sit for the International General Certificate for Secondary Education (IGCSE) at grade 10 as the end of the international curriculum pathway. Students are also equipped with Mandarin skills as a communication tool alongside English and Indonesian fluency. From grade 7, the students are prepared to achieve proficiency and have the option to take Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) or the Chinese Proficiency Test.
holistic education
Christian values remain to be the strongest pillar of learning. Students are guided to perceive that God is the ultimate source of knowledge. We believe that academic achievement is not the only purpose of education. Therefore, we design our curriculum to not only serve as academic resources for our students, but also as a space for our students to “rehearse” before entering the real world. Students are encouraged to take parts in our self-development programs, such as CONTAINER, Performing Arts classes, and many more. We make sure that they have plenty of sources that emphasize holistic education to provide various skills that will help students in the real world.

Conceptual Understanding
We prepare students to develop scientific curiosity and help them maintain a lasting passion for learning. Cambridge International Curriculum allows us encouraging students to develop their conceptual understanding: a firm grasp of the subject’s key concepts. We believe in the value of studying a subject in-depth and developing the skills they need to succeed at a further level. Understanding the key concepts will help students develop a deep insight into the subject, open up new ways of thinking, and build links between real-life experiences.

An Enriching Learning Journey
Our commitment to be students’ learning partner at their tender age offers consistent assistance to reach their greatest potential. We provide a nurturing Christian community for pre-teenagers and adolescents that encourages personal growth, leadership, and connection. It is our privilege to prepare our students and challenge them to explore their gifts in God’s world as they embark on an educational journey to be victorious leaders in Christ.

Christian Value
Our Secondary school commits to walking alongside students and parents on their faith journey. We believe that the greatest knowledge comes from God and it is important to ensure our that each of our students experience God’s love personally. Through Bible study class, we want students to depend on God’s word and go deeper into the Christian Faith. We by encouraging them to take active roles in church ministries, community service, and discipleship activities. It is important to teach them ‘how’ to think – not just ‘what’ to think – as they are figuring out their personalities and beliefs in God. At grade 9, students are expected to join mandatory school retreat and prepare a special and intimate moment with God for a few days.
Integrated Curriculum
The Cambridge IGCSE has wide recognition from higher education institutions as evidence of academic ability. Many universities require a combination of the National Curriculum and Cambridge IGCSE to meet their entry requirements. Mandarin competency also plays an important role in our curriculum in order to give students various options in the future. We provide various activities that will entice them to improve their language fluency in a daily basis. Our secondary program also encourages students to enrich their digital literacy through coding and robotic subjects. Students do not only learn about basic ICT skills but also applicable skills in programming that will answer 21st Century needs.
Global Citizenship
In an increasingly globalized world, it is imperative that students expose themselves to other cultures and perspectives as early as possible. We give opportunities to go outside of their comfort zone and embrace a new culture through Immersion Program, International Competitions, and Youth conferences. This program is not just limited to enhance language skills, but also to build some of the most pertinent soft-skills to possess in the modern-day workforce, such as resilience, flexibility, empathy, and hard-work. We engaged with Mundaring Christian College in Perth, Australia in a sister school partnership to facilitate a student exchange program for our students. Students will have real experience with a language, culture, and society that is very different from their own and most importantly building networks and friendship with their peers all around the world.
Self- Development
Elyon Christian Secondary provides outstanding support system for students, especially in terms of character and emotional development. The living value class is designed to provide space for students to discuss and express their thoughts based on school values. Students may also request a private counselling session with our counselors to seek guidance on spiritual, academic, and personal matters. For developing the field of Arts, students are able to choose one of the Performing Arts offered (Theatre, Orchestra, Choir, and Fine Arts) based on their talent and interest. Secondary students are also obliged to join club activities, CONTAINER (Clubs for Talent Innovation and Interest). The clubs are designed to enrich their soft skills in non-academic fields in accordance to 21st century trends. CONTAINER clubs can also create opportunities for the students to meet professionals outside the academic realm and learn from them.
